It Started With One Car
Shaleigh Walk founded SKW Detailing in 2021, at seventeen years old, after buying her first car. Wanting it to look right, she learned the craft from the ground up — how paint behaves, how interiors come apart and go back together, and why the slow, careful method is the one that actually holds up.
The first details went to family and friends. Within a month, referrals turned it into a real business — and five years later that same word-of-mouth has served more than 2,000 clients, expanded into Kansas City, Topeka and the surrounding towns, and kept a five-star rating across every platform.
Her paint knowledge comes from the shop floor — Shaleigh worked in a body shop and was mentored on paint, learning how it's prepped, corrected and protected. That grounding, five years of hands-on detailing, and a strictly paint-safe process are what go into every vehicle that pulls in, whether it's a daily-driven commuter or a weekend car.

Paint-safe methods, always
Foam pre-wash and a two-bucket or rinseless wash, clean media, and no automatic brushes or tunnel equipment. Nothing touches your paint that shouldn't.
A walkthrough before and after
We walk the vehicle with you first to note existing wear and agree on the plan — then walk it again at the end, so you see exactly what changed.
Quoted up front, paid at the end
The price is agreed before any work begins, and there's no cost difference between mobile and drop-off in Lawrence.
